Ellie Browning's Early Career in Ag

I’ve been part of Agrii for nearly four years, and during that time my role has developed significantly alongside the opportunities the business has given me. I initially started working with Rhiza Digital, supporting both my local arable team and the national fruit team. Alongside this, I was actively involved in promoting and selling the digital platform to new customers across both sectors, helping growers make better use of data and technology on farm.

As my experience grew, I moved into supporting the agronomy team more directly, selling seed and fertiliser while building my own customer portfolio. This step allowed me to strengthen relationships with growers and deepen my understanding of crop production from both a commercial and technical perspective.

I am now beginning my training to become an agronomist, which is an exciting next step in my career. Combining the practical knowledge I’ve gained with Agrii so far, alongside the training ahead, I’m really looking forward to continuing to develop within the industry and seeing where this journey takes me.

Before joining Agrii, I worked as a self-employed farm worker. My role involved operating machinery for contractors as well as working with livestock, giving me a strong practical foundation and a real appreciation for the day-to-day challenges faced on farm.

The Women in Food and Farming movement is a positive step for the industry, bringing people together and creating a space where women can connect, share experiences and support each other.

From a personal perspective, I’ve really valued the opportunity to attend meetings when I’ve been able to make them. It’s encouraging to see such a strong network developing, and it’s clear that these conversations are helping to drive positive change across food and farming.
